Welcome to the Interventions Home Page!
What we know about student learning:No matter how much a student may (or may not) want to learn, no matter how well the teacher crafts a lesson, no matter how well the teacher differentiates, there will statistically be 5-15% of the students who will not learn the full content of a lesson. A student's motivation may contribute to the lack of learning, but motivation may not play a role at all
What are the goals of "interventions"?The ultimate goal of any intervention is for student learning and success.
Pre-K -- 3rd grade, the emphasis of intervention is on prevention * Student needs are identified early on, and interventions focus on keeping students up to grade level standards before they ever fall behind Grade 4-12, the emphasis is on "catching students up" * Student needs are identified as early as possible, and interventions focus on catching students up to grade-level standards once they have already fallen behind |
